I want to share with you my experience on getting braces for the first time.
I never had a straight teeth before, but it started to move in a very bad position when i had 2 extractions. It looked so bad, that's why I never ever smile showing my teeth in pictures. And when one of my colleagues at work noticed it and told me how bad it looks, finally i decided to give braces a try.
I went to the dentist first week of December and was asked to get an x-ray from another dentist. After about one week, i came back and brought my x-ray. I was asked to come back again after 3 days to put spacers cause she will put molar bands.
She then went for a vacation because of the holidays and finally, i received a text message from my dentist a day after Christmas, and i hurriedly went to her clinic.
I arrived at 3:40 pm and finished after 5:30 pm. The process did not hurt at all. I just closed my eyes and the next thing i knew is that i had my braces.
My mouth feels full and i find it hard to talk.
I went home after that and was super hungry. But as expected i can't chew anything.
I did not eat anything for dinner and was super super hungry the next morning. I only ate lugaw the whole day. Luckily, my mom cooked tinola for dinner and i was able to eat rice submerged with lots and lots of sabaw.
I brush my teeth after every meal and was looking in the mirror while eating because it bothers me when something stuck on the wires. But overall, the pain is tolerable.
After 4 days, i began eating more. But still i can't use my front teeth. So, I'm eating soft foods like pasta, bread, chicken cut into small pieces, cake, and my favorite ice cream.
Here are my braces on it's first week.
I will be going back to the dentist on January 26 for my first tightening, and I will post my experience after that. Hopefully, I can update you guys every month for improvements on my teeth.
So, see ya on my next post. :)
